Huntington Station, NY – - Wellness veterinarian Dr. Michel A. Selmer of Advanced Animal Care Center in Huntington Station is Long Island’s first and only veterinarian that performs laparoscopic surgical procedures on pets. Specifically focusing on laparoscopic spaying for female dogs and cats, this not only reduces the incision size and trauma to the animals’ body, but greatly reduces complications and the recovery time for the pet. Traditional spay surgeries leave a larger scar and owners must keep their pets calm (no jumping, running or rough play) for up to two weeks – to avoid the incision from reopening (popping a stitch or staple). Not the easiest thing to do if you have a puppy and kids or multiple dogs in the house. Laparoscopic spays have a faster recovery time, much less pain and discomfort, less risk of complications and much smaller incision.

The cells are injected near the site of the injury, or degeneration and owners report seeing significant improvement in their dogs within the first month.

Dr. Selmer uses a diagnostic tool called the Nutritional Blood Test (NBT) which assesses the health of internal organs and the available vitamins, minerals and enzymes required for the metabolic process. The NBT provides a unique veterinary-client lab report that prescribes the most effective combination of nutrients including vitamins, minerals, enzymes and rare grandulars, specifically blended to match the imbalances found in the animal’s blood. So each pet’s needs are addressed individually and not lumped into one specific formula or brand of food designated for the entire pet population.
